Embracing Courage: A Key Tool for Building Resilience

Hey there, friends!

I am planning a 5-6 hour bootcamp about how to start a nonprofit in the USA. I must admit that it is a really scary thing for me to do. I almost quit just after I had posted it on social media. I realized that I was afraid because it takes lots of courage to do something as big as this. Something I have never done before. But I decided to face my fears in the face and take up the challenge. Courageously.

Today, I want to chat with you about something that’s been on my mind lately – courage. It’s a word that carries a lot of weight, but it’s also a powerful tool that we can use to navigate life’s ups and downs with resilience.

Courage isn’t just about facing big, scary challenges head-on (although it definitely includes that!). It’s also about those small, everyday moments where we have to step out of our comfort zones and take a leap of faith. It’s about being willing to try new things, even if we’re afraid of failing. It’s about speaking up for ourselves and others, even when it’s hard. It’s about being vulnerable and authentic, even when it feels risky.

When we embrace courage in our lives, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities. We become more willing to take risks, to push past our fears, and to grow in ways we never thought possible. Courage allows us to face our challenges with a sense of strength and determination, knowing that we have what it takes to overcome whatever comes our way.

But here’s the thing – courage isn’t about being fearless. It’s about feeling the fear and doing it anyway. It’s about acknowledging our doubts and insecurities, but not letting them hold us back. It’s about being willing to be uncomfortable, knowing that growth and resilience often come from stepping outside of our comfort zones.

So, how can we cultivate courage in our lives? It starts with small steps.

Maybe it’s speaking up in a meeting when you have an idea to share.

Or trying a new hobby that you’ve always been curious about.

Or reaching out to a friend for support when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Each time we choose courage over fear, we strengthen our resilience and build our capacity to face whatever life throws our way.

So, my challenge to you is this: embrace courage in your life. Take those small steps, face those fears, and see how it transforms your resilience. Remember, you are stronger and more capable than you think. And with a little bit of courage, you can overcome anything that comes your way.

Until next time, stay brave, stay resilient, and keep shining bright. You’ve got this!

Your friend in the journey,

Esther

Guess what? I am writing a new book where I share bits and pieces of my story and also give insights about how you can be resilient. Stay tuned to order it soon.

  1. I find a night of sleep, and my first thoughts surface The Very Thing I Need To be Courageous about. Today, It’s a tiny adjustment in my 54 year old relationship with my husband. Practicing courage gives me hope that I will have it in the future when bigger trials may appear.
